My Beauty Must-Haves

Like any "girly girl", I'm a product addict. I love to buy 'em and try 'em! I don't necessarily believe in purchasing the most expensive products and to be honest, most of my fave stuff comes straight from the drug store. My philosophy's always been that whether you pay $10 or $100 for something, it only looks good if you KNOW how to use it. With that being said, here are some of the products that make up my beauty regimen:

Sephora eyebrow palette #02- I always get a ton of compliments on my brows and I have to credit that to this palette. After years of trial and error--too thin, heavily penciled-in, penciled-on, mismatched, not-quite-right brows-- I finally got it right! With the help of Sephora's eyebrow palette, my brows are natural looking & effortlessly flawless.
PROS: inexpensive ($12), fits easily into a small makeup bag, adjustable color/great color match, also available for lighter brows in #01.
CONS: the brush that comes with it is way too small and will totally test your fine motor skills, LOL. I recommend buying a regular sized slanted eyebrow brush to apply your powder and wax.

Neutrogena shine-control blotting sheets- A shiny face is not what's up and applying powder to skin that's already greasy just ends up looking gross. These shine-control sheets will sop up the oil, giving your face a natural matte finish leaving your makeup in-tact.
PROS: silky feel, doesn't disturb your makeup, there's no powder on these like with other blotting papers so they don't leave behind a "residue".
CONS: they only come in packs of 60 so they tend to run out pretty fast.

Bare Minerals makeup- I've been using Bare Minerals now for a little over a year and I must say that I was totally impressed with the results. Just like the infomercial says, it's light and doesn't give you that "masky" feel that most liquid and pot foundations give you. My face just looks soft with a natural glow. The Mineral Veil can also be worn on its own for a soft "finished" look and to lightly blur flaws. Just "swirl, tap & buff" your way to a flawless face in minutes.
PROS: light feel, great color match, starter kit comes with an instructional DVD and all the brushes you'll need, you can sleep in it with no fears of waking up to a huge zit.
CONS: can be somewhat messy, brushes may feel prickly on sensitive skin, contains bismuth oxychloride (for sheen) which may cause an itching or burning sensation to some peoples' faces when they sweat.

TIGI Bed Head wax stick- I love love love this stuff! It smooths the flyaways and is also great for maintaining the tapered sides of my short cut.
PROS: convenient non-messy stick form, inexpensive.
CONS: if you use too much it'll leave a greasy, whitish residue on your hair.

Dove green tea & cucumber beauty bar- I can't use perfumed soaps so this particular bar gives me exactly what I need: a nice light scent and no skin irritation.
PROS: softly scented, leaves skin soft.
CONS: Dove bars "melt" fast.

Wet 'n Wild eye pencil in Turquoise- need a pop of color for your eyes on a blah day but don't feel like whipping out the eyeshadow palette? I've totally fallen in love with brightly hued eyeliner. You can't go wrong as long as the hue compliments your eye color. Not to mention bright liners are totally on-trend for spring/summer 2010.
PROS: uber inexpensive (99 cents to $1.49), great color selection, easy application.
CONS: it's a kohl pencil so you have to sharpen it alot.

Sally Hansen Airbrush Legs- Ok, so nobody's perfect and Sally Hansen took that into consideration when she created Airbrush Legs. It's literally like sheer pantyhose in a can and gives your legs a nice, healthy appearance.
PROS: Natural look, softens appearance of imperfections, long wearing, feels good on
CONS: Overspray can be messy, can slightly rub off on light clothes.

Beauty is a full-time job but it's definitely a fun one with a ton of benefits!
